Recently, 74 students from three Gauteng schools in South Africa were hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning during a school camp in the West Rand area. The affected students suffered symptoms like stomach cramps and diarrhea. This is part of a worrying trend of food poisoning cases reported across the country, including another incident in Limpopo involving 35 students.
Authorities are investigating the source of these incidents, with concerns about the rise of illegal food manufacturing facilities contributing to unsafe consumables. This issue coincides with broader discussions on food safety, particularly emphasized during World Food Day.
