
Indonesia experienced a series of earthquakes on October 21, 2024, with the strongest being a magnitude 5.7 quake off the western coast. This earthquake was one of four that struck the region that day.
The tremors were recorded off the coast of Sumatra, but fortunately, no tsunami warnings were issued, and there were no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage. Indonesia, located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, is prone to frequent seismic activity.
