NAFDAC workers have embarked on an indefinite nationwide strike due to unresolved issues regarding promotions and staff welfare. The key demands include reviewing the results of the 2024 promotion exams, settling salary arrears for employees hired in 2022, and improving welfare policies such as life insurance and repatriation allowances.
The workers, represented by the Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporations and Government-Owned Companies (SSASCGOC), initiated the strike after the agency’s management failed to meet their demands following a 14-day ultimatum. The strike, which began on October 7, 2024, will continue until these grievances are fully addressed.
