The Kano State Hisbah Board has declared Auwal Danladi Sankara, the suspended Commissioner for Special Duties in Jigawa State, wanted due to his failure to appear for a reconciliation meeting regarding allegations of adultery. The board had invited him to reconcile with the complainant, Nasiru Bulama, who accused Sankara of having an affair with his wife, Tasleem Baba Nabegu. According to Hisbah’s Commander General, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, Sankara did not comply with the invitation and switched off his phone after initially confirming he would attend.
Sankara was arrested earlier when he was allegedly found in an inappropriate situation with the married woman. Following these events, the Jigawa State Governor suspended him to allow for a thorough investigation. Despite the accusations, Sankara has denied any wrongdoing and claims that the allegations are part of a politically motivated smear campaign against him. He has indicated his intention to pursue legal action against those spreading the allegations.
