The CAF President has expressed serious concern over the treatment of Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, during their recent ordeal at a Libyan airport. The team was stranded for several hours under distressing conditions after their flight was diverted to Al Abaq International Airport. This incident took place ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya.
CAF has been in communication with both Libyan and Nigerian authorities and has referred the case to its Disciplinary Board for further investigation. CAF has promised that appropriate actions will be taken against those responsible, especially if any regulations were violated
