Alex Ikwechegh, a Nigerian Federal House of Representatives member representing Aba North/South, has been reported for an altercation with a Bolt driver, during which he allegedly slapped the driver and made threatening remarks about his ability to make the driver “disappear” without repercussions. The incident, which reportedly took place in late October 2024, has caused significant public backlash due to Ikwechegh’s perceived abuse of power.
While no official statement from Ikwechegh or further legal action has been confirmed, the issue has generated discussions about accountability for public officials in Nigeria.
