Super Eagles head coach Augustine Eguavoen has set his sights on securing maximum points in the upcoming doubleheader against Libya as part of Nigeria’s campaign for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification. Eguavoen emphasized that victories in both matches would ensure early qualification, avoiding any final-round anxieties. With Nigeria currently leading Group D with four points, a double win would elevate the team to ten points, making it highly likely they would secure their spot in the tournament.
Although the Super Eagles will miss star striker Victor Osimhen, Eguavoen is confident in the remaining squad, particularly forwards like Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke. Nigeria will first host Libya at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo before traveling to Benina, Libya, for the return leg.
