The Nigerian Army is currently investigating Brigadier General M.A. Sadiq, formerly of the 3 Brigade in Kano, over allegations of misconduct involving the diversion of rice palliatives intended for soldiers and the sale of military equipment. Reports indicate that Sadiq allegedly kept the rice, which was meant to support troops, for personal gain and sold items such as a heavy-duty generator and military vehicles to scrap dealers.
As a result of these allegations, Sadiq has been detained in a military police guardroom in Abuja and has been replaced by Brigadier General A.M. Tukur. The Army has pledged to conduct a thorough and fair investigation into the matter, reaffirming its commitment to discipline and accountability within its ranks.
