The Swiss government has donated €1.2 million to aid flood victims in Borno State, Nigeria, following the severe flooding caused by the eruption of Alau Dam in September 2024.
This funding, announced by Swiss Ambassador Nicolas Lang, will support the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund managed by the United Nations. The aid aims to provide essential assistance, including health services, water sanitation, temporary shelters, food security, and protection measures, to those affected by the floods. The Swiss government has also expressed its commitment to disaster preparedness initiatives in Nigeria.
