The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted thunderstorms across various regions of Nigeria from Thursday, October 10, through Saturday, October 12, 2024. The northern region is expected to experience storms in states such as Taraba, Adamawa, Kaduna, and Kebbi, with additional states affected as the days progress.
Thunderstorms are also anticipated in North Central states, including the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, and Plateau, as well as parts of southern Nigeria, such as Ebonyi, Enugu, and Rivers.
NiMet has warned of a high likelihood of urban flooding due to heavy rainfall, urging residents to avoid flood-prone areas and take precautions against strong winds. Airline operators are also advised to keep up with weather updates for operational planning.
