The Lagos State Government recently dismissed six officers from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) over allegations of severe misconduct and inefficiencies. This action followed recommendations from the Personnel Management Board, which were endorsed by the state’s Civil Service Commission. The sacked officers received formal disciplinary notices at LASTMA’s headquarters in Oshodi.
The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, emphasized that these dismissals are part of ongoing efforts to improve the agency’s operations and maintain discipline among its staff. More officers are expected to face similar actions, as further personnel reviews are planned. Citizens are also encouraged to report any misconduct by LASTMA officials.
