Tyson Fury has expressed frustration following his unanimous decision loss to Oleksandr Usyk in their heavyweight title rematch. The bout, held in Riyadh, saw Usyk retain his WBA, WBC, and WBO belts with all three judges scoring the fight 116-112 in his favor.
Speaking after the fight, Fury criticized the decision, alleging bias from the judges. “I felt a little Christmas spirit in there. I think he got a Christmas gift from them judges – Christmas gift early,” Fury remarked.
Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, also weighed in on the outcome, calling the decision “nuts” and questioning the scoring margin that favored Usyk.
Despite the controversy, boxing analysts and fans lauded Usyk’s performance, highlighting his strategic approach and composure throughout the 12-round contest. The Ukrainian heavyweight displayed his trademark speed and technical skill, which many believed earned him the victory.
The fight further cements Usyk’s legacy as a dominant force in the heavyweight division, while Fury faces questions about his next steps in the sport.
