Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 100, has received an outpouring of tributes from global leaders honoring his remarkable legacy of service, peace, and humanitarian work.
U.S. President Joe Biden, in a heartfelt statement, praised Carter as an “extraordinary leader, statesman, and humanitarian,” acknowledging his lifelong commitment to improving lives both domestically and abroad. Biden ordered U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff for 30 days in honor of Carter’s passing.
Former U.S. Presidents also expressed their respect and admiration for Carter. Donald Trump described him as a dedicated leader, while Barack Obama highlighted Carter’s integrity and post-presidential humanitarian efforts. Bill Clinton recalled Carter’s unwavering faith and commitment to service, saying, “President Carter lived to serve others – until the very end.”

Carter, the 39th President of the United States, is widely remembered for his role in the Camp David Accords, which brought peace between Egypt and Israel, as well as his post-presidential work through The Carter Center. In 2002, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his ongoing dedication to promoting human rights and democracy worldwide.
