Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned President Bola Tinubu’s administration for the recent increase in fuel prices and the overall economic hardship facing Nigerians. Following a recent hike in petrol prices from N897 to N1,030 per liter in Abuja, and from N855 to N998 in Lagos, Atiku attributed the cost of living crisis to the government’s mismanagement of fuel subsidies.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Atiku expressed his concern about the administration’s handling of fuel subsidy policies, stating, “The haphazard and disingenuous approach of the current administration to fuel subsidy management has been the reason we are in this current economic crisis in the country.” He further lamented that “there will be no let-up in the escalating inflation rate, which is drowning the material well-being of Nigerians” and remarked, “It is even more worrying that T-pain is undisturbed by the hardship in the country”.
