Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has approved a ₦73,000 minimum wage for civil servants, surpassing the Federal Government’s newly established minimum wage of ₦70,000. The announcement was made during a campaign rally for his re-election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo West Local Government Area on October 12, 2024.
Aiyedatiwa, who took office following the passing of former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, emphasized that the decision reflects his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of state workers. He highlighted the government’s achievements in agriculture, rural development, and timely salary payments, urging voters to support his bid for continuity in governance.
