The Kano State Government has earmarked N8 billion for its annual Ramadan feeding program, aimed at providing meals to less privileged residents during the holy month.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced the initiative, emphasizing the government’s commitment to alleviating hunger and supporting fasting Muslims. The funds will be used to distribute food across designated centers in all 44 local government areas of the state.
The Ramadan feeding program, a long-standing tradition in Kano, is expected to benefit thousands of residents, particularly the less privileged, students, and internally displaced persons. Officials have assured strict monitoring to prevent misuse of funds and ensure transparency in distribution.
Religious leaders and community members have commended the initiative, describing it as a crucial relief effort amid economic hardships.
