The Katsina State Government has confirmed that Governor Dikko Umaru Radda is safe and in stable condition following a road accident involving his convoy on Saturday.
The incident reportedly occurred along the Kankia–Katsina expressway while the governor was returning from a series of community engagements in the northern part of the state.
In an official statement issued late Saturday night, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Bala Zango, said, “His Excellency, Governor Dikko Radda, is in good health and has resumed official duties after undergoing routine medical checks. We thank the public for their concern and good wishes.”
The government also confirmed that while the governor was unharmed, a few members of his security detail sustained minor injuries and were receiving medical attention.
“The government appreciates the quick response of emergency services and assures citizens that all necessary precautions will be taken to prevent a recurrence,” the statement added.
The news of the accident sparked anxiety across social media, prompting calls for improved road safety measures and enhanced protection for public officials.
Governor Radda, who has been actively involved in grassroots development and security initiatives across the state, is expected to continue his official engagements as scheduled in the coming week.
