Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, father of Nigerian music superstar Davido, is on track to complete one of the country’s largest power plants. The $2 billion project, a 1,250-megawatt thermal power plant, is expected to significantly boost Nigeria’s electricity generation, currently limited to about 4,000 megawatts for a population exceeding 200 million. Once operational in January 2025, this plant will add much-needed capacity to the national grid.
Dr. Adeleke revealed that the project faced significant governmental hurdles during the permitting process, with one official even attempting to block its approval. Despite these challenges, the business mogul remained resolute, crediting his faith for the project’s progress.
