Abia State Governor Alex Otti has allocated ₦29.5 billion in the proposed 2025 budget for the construction of perimeter fences around public schools across the state. This initiative is part of his broader strategy to enhance the security and infrastructure of educational institutions. The governor’s efforts in the education sector also include the “Reclaim Our Schools Initiative,” remodeling projects in schools, and raising teacher retirement age to 65 to improve the teaching profession’s appeal.
These moves are aligned with Otti’s commitment to improving infrastructure, creating a safe learning environment, and addressing the challenges in Abia’s public education system.
