The ruling on the bail application for Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan was delayed due to the absence of Justice Emeka Nwite, who was attending a seminar at the National Judicial Institute in Abuja. The ruling has been postponed to October 11, 2024.
Gambaryan, who faces money laundering charges, has been seeking bail on medical grounds, citing a worsening health condition that he claims cannot be treated in Nigeria. His legal team presented medical reports to support this, but the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) opposed the request. The EFCC argued that Gambaryan was already receiving adequate medical care from Nigerian authorities, including treatment at multiple hospitals such as the State House Clinic. Despite his health concerns, the EFCC maintains that his condition is not as severe as portrayed.
