Bobrisky, a Nigerian social media personality, is suing internet activist VeryDarkMan for defamation over allegations that he bribed officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15 million to have money laundering charges against him dropped. The claim was made in a viral voice recording that Bobrisky insists was fabricated using artificial intelligence (AI). In response, Bobrisky has filed a N1 billion lawsuit, demanding a retraction and a public apology. This legal move follows a video released by VeryDarkMan, where he claimed that Bobrisky had deleted an initial post about the bribery after being sued, further escalating the dispute.
