The Bayelsa State Government has distributed 4,200 bags of rice to vulnerable residents across the state as part of its efforts to cushion the effects of economic hardship. The initiative, coordinated through the Ministry of Women, Children Affairs, Empowerment, and Social Development, aims to support the less privileged, particularly in the wake of rising food prices and inflation.
The distribution targets widows, persons with disabilities, and other disadvantaged groups, ensuring that the relief materials reach those most in need. Governor Douye Diri has reiterated his administration’s commitment to addressing food insecurity and improving the welfare of Bayelsa’s residents, especially during challenging times.
This effort aligns with broader social intervention programs aimed at alleviating poverty and providing immediate relief to vulnerable populations across Nigeria.
