A delegation of electoral officials from the Republic of Benin has visited the headquarters of Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to learn about the country’s electoral processes.
The visit is part of efforts by the Beninese authorities to enhance their electoral system by studying Nigeria’s strategies in managing elections. The delegation was particularly interested in the deployment of modern technologies like the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV), which have been central to Nigeria’s recent elections.
The exchange highlights Nigeria’s role as a regional leader in democratic practices and electoral innovation. It also reflects the growing collaboration among West African nations to improve election management and foster transparency in the democratic process.
INEC officials expressed their commitment to sharing knowledge and supporting regional efforts to strengthen democracy across the continent.
