Senator Ireti Kingibe has announced that 62 healthcare centres across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are set to undergo renovation as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery in the region one in each ward.
The senator made the announcement during her Labor Day town hall meeting with residents, where she emphasized the importance of accessible and well-equipped health facilities for communities in and around the FCT.
“This is not just about infrastructure; it’s about saving lives and restoring dignity to our healthcare system,” Senator Kingibe said. “We are prioritizing areas where people have been underserved for too long.”
The renovation initiative is expected to cover facility upgrades, essential medical equipment, and improved staffing structures, with a focus on rural and peri-urban communities.
Residents welcomed the announcement with enthusiasm, describing it as a much-needed intervention in a sector that has suffered from years of neglect.
