
Prominent human rights lawyer and activist, was initially remanded in custody by an Ekiti State court over allegations of defaming legal luminary Afe Babalola through his book Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System. The book reportedly accused Babalola of judicial corruption, leading to a 16-count defamation charge. Farotimi pleaded not guilty and sought bail, which he has been granted 50 million. Although he would still need to appear in court tomorrow, his case has been adjourned to Jan 29th 2025.
