
Burkina Faso’s military leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has dissolved the transitional government and dismissed Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachim Kyelem de Tambèla. This decision, announced on December 7, 2024, comes amid mounting security and governance challenges in the country. Traoré, who seized power in a coup in 2022, cited the need for changes to address worsening security and governance issues as reasons for this action.
