Dr Moses Paul of Free Nigeria Movement has once again expressed his disgust towards the national grid collapsing again in the space of one month. He took to his X formerly Twitter account to express his concerns
Nigeria is once again plunged into darkness as the national grid collapses for the umpteenth time. This recurring tragedy is a glaring testament to what Mr. @PeterObi calls the failure of leadership and the systemic neglect of our critical infrastructure. For voicing these truths, he is often unjustly labeled a bigot. Yet, the collapse of the national grid is not just an inconvenience; it is a national emergency that has paralyzed businesses, endangered lives, and further eroded the confidence of Nigerians in those entrusted with safeguarding their welfare.
For years, successive administrations have promised reforms in the power sector, yet Nigerians continue to endure the indignity of living in a country where stable electricity is a luxury. This latest grid failure underscores the urgent need for a comprehensive overhaul of our power infrastructure and the implementation of robust, people-centered policies.
Mr. @PeterObi has consistently emphasized the need for good governance and accountability in leadership. It is unacceptable that a nation blessed with abundant resources and intellectual capital remains in the dark, both literally and figuratively. As the leading opposition, we demand immediate government action to restore power and present a clear, transparent roadmap to prevent future collapses. The Nigerian people deserve better—leadership that is accountable, responsive, and capable of fulfilling its promises.
This moment calls for collective resolve to hold the government accountable and push for the necessary reforms to end this perennial crisis. The time for excuses is over. It is time for decisive action and visionary leadership.
