
A bold new initiative aimed at tackling Nigeria’s pressing social challenges has been launched with the unveiling of the Foundation for Restoring Civic Values, Equality, and Education (FREE).
With influential activists, leaders, and community organizers in attendance, the foundation’s convener, Dr. Moses Paul, presented a roadmap to rebuild Nigeria through civic responsibility, equality, and education, positioning FREE as a pivotal force for national transformation.
According to him, “Our goal is to empower individuals and communities, enhancing lives by promoting civic values, fostering equality, improving mental health, and advancing education,” Dr. Paul stated.
“At FREE, we envision a just, inclusive, and progressive Nigeria, where civic values and equality become the cornerstones of our national development. This foundation is not just an organization; it’s a movement for collective national restoration.”
Speaking at the event, renowned poet and thought leader, Dike Chukwumerije, said the foundation was established to restor civic values, advocating for education and, equality in Nigeria.
His words, “We’re here for the unveiling, of the, Free Nigeria Foundation. It’s a foundation that is catered to the restoration of civic values, advocating for education and, equality in Nigeria.
“So it’s all about properly articulating the essence of what it means to be Nigerian, what our values are, what our ideals are, what we represent as a nation, being able to project that properly, and using that to inspire and challenge our fellow citizens to live up to the ideal of what it really means to be Nigerian.
On her part, the Director of finance, Partnershp and Mental Programms, Ndidi Mbagwu, the idea of the foundatio is for restore the civic value of Nigeria that has been lost and also to help the people understand some of the things that, are required for the country to move forward.
She said, “The other thing that that is actually is very important to me is the health healthcare part of it, which is a mental health.
“A country, that, has no health care systems. Nothing really. So, I am very much interested. I have a passion for for the health and men especially mental health.
“So we’re going to work with our youths, empower them, educate them, help us rest to restore the civic value that is missing, amongst us at the moment.
“Definitely nonpartisan. Definitely none at all. We don’t have any we are not a political party. We are not a political organization. We are just an NGO, nongovernmental organization.
“So that’s where we are, and, we work with everyone. Everyone that is interested, that has the passion of the new Nigeria, those are the people that we work with.
“So it doesn’t matter if you’re APC, PDP, Labour Party, wherever you are. I mean, as long as you have a passion for a new Nigeria, we work with you. So that’s that’s who we are.”
