The Edo IDP camp, which houses many displaced persons, is seeking support from the Borno State government following the graduation of five of its residents as medical doctors. The camp, home to people displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency, continues to nurture the educational and professional growth of its inhabitants, with these graduates now ready to contribute to society. Pastor Solomon Folorunsho, the camp’s coordinator, has called on Borno’s Governor Babagana Zulum to extend the support he offers to displaced people in other countries to those in the camp.
The camp’s efforts have garnered attention for the remarkable achievements of its residents, but they also face challenges that include a need for more resources to support education and healthcare.
