Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, a prominent elder statesman, former Federal Commissioner for Information, and leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), has passed away at the age of 97.
The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo, Delta State, announced his passing in a statement signed by his brother, Prof. C. C. Clark, and his son, Penawei Clark. The statement expressed appreciation for public prayers and support, noting that details regarding his burial arrangements would be communicated in due course.
Born on February 25, 1927, in Kiagbodo, Delta State, Chief Clark was a highly respected Ijaw leader and an influential figure in Nigeria’s political landscape. He played a key role in advocating for the development and rights of the Niger Delta region, particularly through his leadership of PANDEF.
