Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has shared updates on the injury and fitness status of several key players ahead of the club’s upcoming fixtures.
Speaking in a press conference, Maresca revealed that Reece James is set to undergo a scan to determine the extent of his latest issue. “We wait for Reece James to have a scan… we have still no updates,” he stated, highlighting the uncertainty surrounding the defender’s condition.
Additionally, Malo Gusto, who was initially available, experienced discomfort overnight. “Malo Gusto was with us, but during the night, he didn’t feel well,” Maresca explained, indicating that the young full-back’s status will also be monitored closely. Levi Colwill, another important squad member, was similarly sidelined due to illness.
Maresca also addressed the situation with Pedro Neto, noting that the winger picked up a problem during international duty. “Pedro Neto had a problem with the international team, and we didn’t want to take any risks,” he said, emphasizing the club’s cautious approach to the player’s recovery.
Chelsea fans will hope for positive news from James’ scan and swift recoveries for Gusto, Colwill, and Neto as the team navigates a busy schedule.
