Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has indefinitely suspended Engr. Shehu Hadi Ahmad, the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA). Although the exact reasons behind this suspension haven’t been publicly disclosed, it is a part of Wike’s broader restructuring of the FCT administration since he took office. His efforts have included audits, reallocations, and adjustments to improve transparency and efficiency in the administration.
Wike has shown a hands-on approach in restructuring FCT operations, recently approving the confirmation of eight acting directors within the FCDA as full directors. This move was part of the “Renewed Hope Agenda” under President Tinubu’s administration, which seeks to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery within Abuja and the surrounding federal capital territory.
