A major fire broke out at Ladipo Spare Parts Market in Mushin, Lagos, causing significant losses as goods worth billions of naira were destroyed. The fire began late at night and rapidly spread, fueled by combustible materials in the area. Traders reported heavy losses, including expensive spare parts like gearboxes, engines, and radiators.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, supported by the Federal Fire Service, responded promptly, containing the fire after several hours of effort. However, limited access to the affected area hindered their initial response. While there were no fatalities, three people sustained injuries, and suspicions about the cause of the fire, including possible sabotage, remain under investigation.
