Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has debunked widespread rumours suggesting his planned defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), firmly declaring that he has no intention of leaving the party.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Governor Adeleke described the reports as “false, misleading, and politically motivated”, urging the public to disregard them entirely.
> “I remain a loyal and committed member of the PDP. I am not leaving the party. These rumours are mere distractions from political opponents who are threatened by our performance in Osun State,” he said.
The governor emphasized his focus on delivering good governance to the people of Osun and reaffirmed his commitment to the vision and values of the PDP, which he described as the “only party with a true progressive agenda for Nigeria.”
He also warned mischief-makers to desist from peddling fake news that could create confusion and instability in the political space.
Governor Adeleke’s clarification comes amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with several governors and prominent politicians being speculated to be considering moves across party lines.
