A group of armed men stormed the Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) showroom in Anambra State, abducting three individuals, including staff members. The attackers reportedly entered the facility during business hours, causing panic among employees and customers.
Witnesses said the gunmen arrived in several vehicles, heavily armed, and fired shots into the air to scare people away. Security forces responded to the scene after the incident, but the attackers had already fled. Local authorities have launched an investigation and are working to rescue the abductees.
This attack marks another instance of rising insecurity in Nigeria’s southeastern region, where criminal groups frequently target businesses for ransom. The management of Innoson expressed concern over the safety of its employees and called on security agencies to ensure the swift recovery of the victims.
