Omoyele Sowore, prominent activist and former presidential candidate, who was involved in the recent protests held in Lagos. Now During these protests, a man accused Sowore of hijacking the movement for political purposes. The protest, which focused on issues like hunger, inflation, and government inefficiency, saw Sowore and eight others detained by the police.
However, Sowore secured the release of the protesters, including the man who accused him, by posting bail. This protest follows the earlier #EndBadGovernance demonstrations in August and continues to pressure the Nigerian government on critical issues, including economic hardship under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
