The House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee has opened an investigation into an alleged case of project abandonment involving the Gidanwaya-Guaran Dutse-Waman Rafi-Saminaka-Kano road project in Kaduna State, valued at ₦1.46 billion. This critical infrastructure project, expected to enhance regional connectivity and support local economic activities, was awarded to Messrs Jam Jam Dynamic Platform Limited on October 5, 2022. Despite the full contract amount reportedly being paid to the contractor, the road remains incomplete, causing significant disruption and concern among residents and travelers reliant on the route.
The chairman of the committee, Representative Bamidele Salam, emphasized that this investigation is part of a broader initiative aimed at scrutinizing key national infrastructure projects, especially those undertaken within the past five years.
