Peter Obi’s statement reflects his dedication to Nigeria’s democratic values and his vision for a more transparent and accountable governance system
Obi often emphasizes the need for effective leadership, fiscal responsibility, and the development of infrastructure, including road networks, which he frequently brings up in discussions about the country’s progress.
Whilst in Ondo he re-emphasized his commitment to advocating for a better caliber of leadership, in his words he said “Despite the myriad challenges that plague our electoral system and the unsettling criticisms that have shadowed recent elections, My concerns are real, particularly with the state of our democracy as reflected in recent events, including the elections in Edo. Yet, even with these apprehensions, I made the deliberate choice to travel to Ondo to stand by Hon. Shola Ebiseni, a candidate I genuinely believe has both the competence to make a difference. Shola represents not just a contender, but someone who, when given the mandate, will work tirelessly to deliver the true dividends of democracy to the people”
Peter Obi states that he is fully aware of the difficulties that lie ahead, he is convinced that with principled leadership, there is hope for a democratic future that fulfills the aspirations of every Nigerian.
