Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has recently reignited political tensions by declaring that he will continue to be a problem for Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, leaders of the opposition PDP and Labour Party, respectively. Wike, who has been a controversial figure within the PDP, stated that his stance is driven by his fight for fairness, justice, and equity, particularly related to his displeasure over the PDP presidential primaries.
He believes that his actions were meant to stop what he considered “injustice” within the party. Wike also reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing that he has no regrets about backing Tinubu during the 2023 elections.
While Atiku’s camp has dismissed Wike’s comments as a reflection of his personal grievances following his loss in the PDP primaries, Peter Obi’s spokesperson chose not to respond directly, implying that time will judge Wike’s actions.
