Africa’s richest man and President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has expressed deep appreciation and excitement over his recent appointment to a key advisory role by the World Bank.
In a statement released Thursday, Dangote described the appointment as both an honour and a call to greater responsibility. “I am humbled and honoured by this opportunity to serve. The work of the World Bank in driving global development aligns perfectly with my lifelong commitment to economic empowerment, poverty reduction, and inclusive growth across Africa,” he said.
Dangote emphasized that he sees the role not only as recognition of his contributions to industry and philanthropy, but as a strategic platform to influence global policy in favour of emerging markets and underserved populations.
“This is a moment to contribute meaningfully to global conversations that shape economies and impact lives. I am excited about the possibilities and the partnerships this new responsibility will foster,” he added.
The World Bank announced Dangote’s inclusion as part of a high-level advisory council tasked with supporting development strategies focused on infrastructure, health, and economic inclusion in developing countries.
