Former Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere is in advanced talks to join Norwich City as their new first-team coach. The Championship club has identified Wilshere, currently managing Arsenal’s Under-18 team, as the ideal candidate to strengthen their coaching staff. Negotiations between Norwich and Arsenal are in progress, but Wilshere’s move is not expected to be finalized before their upcoming match against Stoke City.
Wilshere, who retired from professional football in 2022, has found a renewed passion for the game through coaching, leading Arsenal’s youth side to the FA Youth Cup final in his first season. This move to Norwich would mark his first step into first-team coaching, and he is expected to bring a fresh approach to help the Canaries push for success in the Championship.
Norwich’s Sporting Director Ben Knapper, who previously worked with Wilshere at Arsenal, is said to have played a significant role in facilitating the move.
