The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) has reportedly taken steps to oversee the case files of the detained #EndBadGovernance protesters. This move follows legal battles concerning the arrests made after recent protests over economic challenges and governance issues in Nigeria.
The AGF’s involvement includes examining the legal basis of the detention and ensuring the case’s adherence to due process. This development aligns with calls from activists and legal advocates, including prominent lawyer Femi Falana, who have been pushing for the protection of detainees’ rights and challenging the prolonged detention orders issued by the courts.
