President Bola Tinubu’s administration, through the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), has raised the fuel price again, pushing it to N1,025 per liter in Lagos and N1,060 in Abuja as of Tuesday. Previously, prices were set at N998 in Lagos and N1,030 in Abuja at NNPCL stations, with other fuel stations selling between N1,150 and N1,200 per liter.
This increase reflects Nigeria’s current economic difficulties, adding to the financial strain for Nigerians already struggling with rising costs of living. Since President Tinubu ended the fuel subsidy upon taking office on May 29, 2023, fuel prices have soared from N145 to over N1,000 per liter, leading to a higher cost of living. This has sparked public frustration, with some Nigerians referring to Tinubu as “T-Pain” to convey their economic hardship under his leadership.
