The Lagos State Government has directed each Local Government Area (LGA) and Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to submit 500 applicants for military recruitment. This initiative is part of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s effort to increase the number of indigenous Lagos youths in the military, as the state has previously been underrepresented.
The Secretary to the State Government, Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, emphasized the importance of this recruitment drive and encouraged local leaders to educate youths on the benefits of military service, dispelling fears about frontline risks. This move aligns with the federal policy to ensure equal representation from all states in the Nigerian military.
