
Gboyega Soyannwo, Deputy Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, passed away recently at the age of 55 following a brief illness. His death was announced by Lagos’ Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotosho, who shared that Soyannwo’s passing has deeply affected the state government. Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his sorrow, describing Soyannwo as a trusted ally and confidant who was instrumental to his administration’s vision for a “Greater Lagos.”
A memorial service was held for Soyannwo, attended by Governor Sanwo-Olu, other government officials, and family members. During the tribute, his wife, Yewande Soyannwo, reflected on their life together, emphasizing his dedication to his role and the people of Lagos. Soyannwo leaves behind his wife and two children.
