At the inauguration of the Peoples Democratic Institute (PDI), Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and former Senate President Bukola Saraki emphasized the importance of unity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the party prepares for future elections. Both leaders called for an ideological rebirth that aligns with current political dynamics, urging party members to put aside internal conflicts and focus on revitalizing the PDP’s values and mission.
Makinde pointed out that for the PDP to regain its influence in Nigeria’s political landscape, members must remain united and committed to a common purpose. He stressed that this unity will enable the party to develop a cohesive vision that addresses the needs of Nigerians. Saraki added that ideological renewal is essential for the PDP to offer meaningful opposition and credible alternatives to the ruling party.
Both leaders highlighted that the new direction of the PDI would serve as a platform for policy development and ideological discourse within the party, helping to reinforce the PDP’s role in shaping national governance. They emphasized that a renewed, united PDP is essential to inspire public confidence and support as the party positions itself for upcoming elections.
