Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), recently responded to criticisms surrounding the retirement of two prominent church leaders, Bishops David Abioye and Thomas Aremu. He firmly told Nigerians to “mind their business” regarding the church’s leadership transitions. These comments came as some questioned the decision to retire the two longtime Vice Presidents of the church.
Abioye and Aremu are stepping down in accordance with new guidelines established by the church’s constitution, which set the retirement age at 58, down from 60. Both leaders have played significant roles in the growth of the ministry, with Abioye having been part of the church since 1979. Their retirements are part of the church’s broader effort to adhere to its operational rules and maintain continuity in leadership.
