Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed deep frustration over Nigeria’s consistent failure to implement policies effectively, describing the country as a “burial ground of policies.” Speaking at an event celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Methodist Archdiocese of Abuja, Obasanjo lamented how Nigeria’s leadership has mismanaged the nation’s abundant resources. He highlighted that Nigeria was endowed with everything necessary for prosperity but has been held back by poor leadership and ineffective governance.
He pointed out that the country’s current challenges stem from a lack of proper management of its natural wealth, not from resource shortages. Obasanjo called for humility and guidance from God, emphasizing that Nigeria could heal and overcome its problems if its leaders took more responsibility and made better use of the nation’s blessings.
