
In Nigeria’s 2025 budget, the daily feeding allowance for inmates is set to increase to N1,150 per person. This figure is part of a broader government effort to improve living conditions within correctional facilities across the country.
The increased allocation is meant to address issues of malnutrition and inadequate meals, which have been long-standing concerns within the Nigerian prison system. It also aligns with the push to make prison conditions more humane, especially with the rising prison population in Nigeria.
