Abeokuta, Nigeria – February 18, 2025
The Ogun State Police Command has declared popular Nigerian musician Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, wanted over an alleged violent attack on government officials carrying out their lawful duties in Ota, Ogun State.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola, the incident occurred on February 5, 2025, when officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development’s Ota Zonal Office were conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu, Ota. The officials—identified as TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—had encountered Portable’s father at a bar in the area, who informed them that his son was not present.
Shortly afterward, Portable allegedly arrived at the scene, armed with a firearm and accompanied by nine associates. The group reportedly launched a violent attack on the unarmed officials, inflicting various injuries before the victims managed to escape and report the incident to the Ota Area Command.
The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation. The police have urged Portable to turn himself in, while assuring the public that efforts are underway to apprehend him.
